Today, I received some amazing news: my application to the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) has been accepted! The list of laureates was published today on the official bulletin of the ministry. I have been appointed as a junior member of the institute. This is a great honor and I am grateful to all the people who supported me throughout the application process.
For some context: the IUF distinguishes every year around 200 academics in France of all disciplines, 100 “junior” (under 40 years old) and 100 “senior” members. After the appointment, members get a large teaching reduction to focus on research work, research funds (15k€ per year), and a salary bonus. And a medal!
